Parents' testimonials

After many attempts at talk therapy that ended in blow-ups, we came to you and discovered things could be different, and sometimes even better. Thank you for your resourcefulness and creativity, thank you for not giving up even when it wasn't easy or pleasant, and for proving to us that patience pays off.
We turned to Shira as experienced parents who thought we knew it all, with a very talented child who wasn’t willing to fit into conventional molds. Through art, creativity, games, and age-appropriate cognitive stories, Shira listened carefully, quickly recognized all his strengths, and gave both him and us practical tools for coping and for seeing things in a healthier way. The experience was overwhelmingly positive and remains a wonderful memory to this day. More than that, it led to lasting changes in all of our behavior patterns — all thanks to Shira’s warmth and intelligence.
We heard about art therapy and decided to give it a try, even though neither we nor our child are particularly gifted in the arts. Very quickly, we were captivated by Shira and her unique space, and over time, we began to understand the potential of art and discovered it to be an incredibly helpful tool. It was surprising to see how something entirely new could make such a difference, with results that positively impacted the atmosphere at home overall. For that, we are truly grateful and very happy.
For us as parents, the clearest indication of the success of the therapy and the connection formed is that we still feel comfortable reaching out for advice, even years after the therapy itself ended — knowing that Shira knows our daughter in a truly unique way that no one else does. Even during the years the therapy took place, it always felt like something natural and straightforward. The message that was passed on to our daughter — and has stayed with her ever since — is that when you need help, there is a safe and helpful place to turn to.

Feedback from Projects, Professional Trainings, and Workshops

Shira led several training sessions on art therapy for kindergarten teachers. Throughout the sessions, she successfully conveyed key principles of free creation and personal expression.
The sessions were diverse and included a variety of techniques and up-to-date knowledge. Shira was attentive to the participants’ needs, answered questions with professionalism, and succeeded in engaging and inspiring them. Positive feedback about the training soon followed; the kindergarten teachers shared that they were excited to return to their classrooms and apply what they had learned, and that they greatly enjoyed and benefited from the experience.

As the coordinator of the "Foot steps" program — a training and support initiative for private early childhood settings (ages birth to three) in the city of Modi'in — I would like to thank Shira Aharony for an enriching and fascinating training session titled "Toddlers Meet Materials and Create."
Shira provided the staff with valuable and informative content about the importance of material exploration for toddlers. She explained which types of materials are developmentally appropriate for each age, and offered numerous practical suggestions and hands-on tools to support meaningful creative experiences.
I would like to emphasize that Shira conducted the training in a dynamic and enjoyable way, even under challenging conditions. The session, held via Zoom, was unexpectedly interrupted by a missile alert in Modi'in and the surrounding area. After everyone returned from their shelters, Shira resumed the second part of the training calmly, professionally, and with great dedication.
We learned so much!

I had the privilege of getting to know Ms. Shira Aharoni and working alongside her for nearly two years, during her time as Director of the "Mar’ot" Art Therapy Unit at the Ashdod Museum of Art.
Shira managed a team, initiated and led processes, engaged partners, and oversaw content and budgets — all with a strong professional, managerial, and community-oriented approach.
In every single project, she demonstrated complete dedication and operated with a deep sense of commitment and devotion. Shira is a wonderful person both professionally and personally, possessing a systemic perspective alongside excellent interpersonal skills, sensitivity to others, strong improvisation abilities, and innovative, creative thinking. She demonstrates deep and multifaceted reflection. I am confident that her personality and abilities will be expressed to their fullest potential wherever she chooses to work.
The manager who has her as an employee and colleague is truly fortunate.

Impressions from the "True Colors" Program

The "True Colors" program has been running at our school since the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year, with two groups of 10 students each (separated by boys and girls). Shira is very attentive to the children and manages to recognize both the strengths and challenges of each one. She consults with me, as the coordinator for inclusion and integration, as well as with the 7th-grade counselor, in order to make the sessions more effective and to gain a deeper understanding of the children.

Best regards,

The "True Colors" program took place at our school during the 2019-2020 school year. The program was successfully implemented for 7th-grade students who attended regularly, cooperated, and benefited greatly from the sessions with Shira.
Shira leads the program with professionalism and great dedication, providing personal and caring attention to the students in the group. Some students were able to establish social connections thanks to the "True Colors" sessions.
